1. GET ORGANIZED:
Set up a space for your art only, consisting of a table, paints, brushes, container of water, paper towels, convas, and small things like toothpicks, chalk, ruler, painters tape, transfer paper and a palette..When you have all this organized all you have to do go to your table and paint..
2.SURROUND YOURSELF WITH BEAUIFUL ART AND BOOKS.
Put up all your paintings you already finished or half finished, and art tutorial books, Pictures from Magazine's and Calender's, when you go to your space look through a few of your books, and either pick a painting that need's to be finished, or start a new one..You will surely be inspired.
3. DO FREE PAINTINGS FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS:
Nothing inspires me more then doing paintings for my family and friends, they love it, You will be motivated as soon as you decide on what you are going to paint, and you will look forward to giving them your beautiful paintings..
It can get overwhelming when your trying to paint a full painting, if your a beginner it's hard to know where to start, what to paint, what colors to use, composition, and so much more, so then it's hard to get motivated to start a painting, but if you practice one subject at a time you can just concentrate on that one subject until you get it the way you like it, take clouds for instance, just do clouds only, then a tree, or different tree's, rocks and so on, think of things you would like to put in your painting, that way you don't have to worry about composition, all you have to worry about is trying different brushes and colors...so much fun...
5. WATCH YOUTUBE TUTORIALS:
You can go to your TV or computer and watch Youtube Painting Tutorials, pick a subject you would like to learn like the clouds, and see how other artists are doing them, or watch a full Tutorial on a landscape, or whatever your interested in learning...this will motivate and inspire you to want to paint..
6. BUY NEW SUPPLIES:
Buy new supplies you don't have, maybe an easel, or tube paints of colors you don't have, an art book, a few new brushes, a new camera to take pictures of your paintings, just buy one item at a time, so you will have an excuse to go buy more later, this will motivate you to want to try out your new supplies and paint..Don't forget to ask for art supplies for Christmas, or your Birthday..
7. GO TO ART GALERY'S
When your out and about drop into a few art Galery's and have a look at other artist paintings, or look at the paintings on the walls in the Doctors office, Dental office, Malls, and anywhere you go to inspired you to paint..
8. TAKE PICTURES:
Spend a day taking pictures with your new camera, maybe of flowers in your garden, tree's on your street, the sky on your walk, anything that you think would interest and inspire you to paint..I have often got up at sunrise and took picture of the sky, or sunset..When you go to the beach take pictures of the sand, the water, waves, palm tree's, shells, rocks, or take a picture of a family member standing on the beach looking out at the ocean, then you can paint that as a seascape with your family member at the focal point..You will be motivated and excited to get home in your art room and start your painting...
9. TAKE ART CLASSES
Go to a few art classes for hands on learning, go to painting parties these are fun and a relaxing way to learn and meet a few like minded people that will inspire you..
10. ENTER AN ART CONTEST:
This will Motivate you to paint by entering an art contest, you will have fun and see other paintings that were entered, if you think yours won't be good enough it could be the winner, even if you don't win do it for the fun and experience..
That's all I have for now, if you can think of more ways to get motivated or inspired to paint let me know in the comments:
